Question About Hwy 101 in Oregon

I am following Hwy 101 from San Francisco up to Seattle. I pull a high fiver so I always check my Trucker's Atlas and make sure to stay on the yellow high-lighted roads because the big trucks can drive down those roads with no height or width problems.

I just checked, and for some reason, the section of Hwy 101 between Lincoln City, Oregon and Tillamook, Oregon is NOT highlighted. It is listed as a 'Restricted Route' in the Atlas, but I don't know what that means.

According to the Atlas, there are no clearances less then 14 ft.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  • Wife and I took 101 from Ukiah CA to Lincoln City (Cape Kiwanda RV Park last August. We came across a curved 10.5' tall bridge N of Coos Bay. It was 10.5 ft on the curbside only so We straddled the double yellow as it had 1 N and 1 S lane and narrow. Slowed down and timed it for solo xing. We have a 39 ft Keystone Alpine 5er that is 13 ft tall at roof sat antenna. Some hairpins around Gold Beach OR. Great trip!!!
  • Only tunnel I know of on Oregon 101 is between Cannon Beach and Seaside. It won't be an issue for you.

    Scenery is spectacular.
  • Tunnel ?? Where is the tunnel ? Do you happen to know clearance ?

    Thanks
  • That might be the section with the tunnel. It's not an issue, but it's why it might be marked "restricted"
  • All of 101 is fine for any RV! Go enjoy the scenery, just dont get in a hurry.
