Question for my fellow MI dwellers

I am leaving late Friday for Holland. I am leaving from the NW corner of Oakland Co. I make the trek a few times a year, so I know exactly how to go via expressways but I was curious of an alternate route, just staying on highways instead.
I pulled my map, but there really isn't any direct route from my area. I could head north and pick up M21 and run that into Grand Rapids but its out of the way.
Do any of you have suggestions?
It'll just be me (mom) and my girls so not wanting to get into "bad" areas either (though I'm a regular driver into Detroit, I want to avoid with the kids)
Appreciate tips.

  • I don't think there are any semi direct routes to Holland for you. We live in the Lake Fenton area, semi close to you and 69 to 96 is the only practical way we know. M21 would be ok road but somewhat out of the way.
  • Plot the route with www.maps.yahoo.com then click and drag the route anyway you want. The system will recalculate how many miles and how much longer it will take. You can always go back to the original route.
Didn't understand where is Oakland, Co? Is that Colorado or Oakland County?
