We live in Prosser Wa on I-82 just east of Sunnyside. The route you asked about is just fine for a rig of any size. Plus probably total of less hills than going thru Yakima. But even shorter and just as easy is instead of cutting off to Sunnyside is continue on into the Tri-cities and pick I-82 there.
