"less tourist and more scenic places" in Maine, you may want to add the Schoodic section of Acadia and Mt Katahdin to your list. Both places are not nearly as busy as Acadia in and around Bar Harbor. Katahdin of course has some Appalachian Trail you could scratch off your bucket list.
