We were being charged exorbitant fees by B of A plus ATM fees. While traveling down south, we ran into another couple who did business with Charles Schwab. All ATM fees are returned to your account at the end of the month and there are no internaitonal fees. Another plus is free checks, although we rarely use them. We usually get about $500 U.S. in pesos at the cambio before crossing although we don't get the best deal. We are always afraid of running into empty ATM's. Once on the way, we have time to check for other options.
