My understanding is that the OP had purchased tourist policy from the agent in Mazatlan. The tourist policies are written in such a way that the risk of loss is minimal since the rig will be going home every 6 months or so reducing the amount of time in Mexico and thus the risk to the Insurance company. Once it is determined that in actuality you are not a year by year tourist but rather a long term resident (10 year TIP) the insurance no longer is valid. As indicated by others, keep fighting it but I believe that your rig is no longer considered a tourist rig.
