Thought I would reactivate this topic as it is the time of year we all start planning about our return to Mex.
I was in contact with Jose the OP. He was not successful getting ACE SEGUROS to compensate his loss.
Two years ago I had the ACE SEGUROS insurance. I reviewed the policy and the WEASEL clause was there stating that the vehicle must have insurance in effect for the territory it is registered in(paraphrased). Fortunately I did not have a claim.
I reviewed my MAPFRE insurance policy from last year purchased from MEXICO BOB online. There was no WEASEL clause.
This is a lesson for all of us. Have your insurance vendor send you the policy conditions and read it before purchasing.
