After a few disaster stories on oil changes, I have only used Ford Dealers to change the oil in my Ford Diesels. Always get good service and sometimes a special--check the internet for dealer specials. For me getting the job done correctly is the most important aspect of an oil change--maybe I spend more--but I have avoided problems.
That's a very bad idea outside of Anchorage in Alaska.
Do not go to any Ford dealership outside of Anchorage for service. It's not just pricing, it's incompetence. They know you're a tourist, you will get ripped off. I've heard very good things about johnson tire service in Soldotna, and have frequented their anchorage, eagle river, and valley locations without issue.
Definitely avoid outlaw in soldotna, and ford in kenai. - timandsusanExplorerAfter a few disaster stories on oil changes, I have only used Ford Dealers to change the oil in my Ford Diesels. - traveylinExplorerI used the jiffy lube across the street from the golden nugget campground. Our class a is two large for their work bays, so they use a slider to access underneathe like I used to many years ago when I changed oil myself. 150 dollars including synthetic pre oil. I am good till I get home in south texas. Pops
- jnharleyExplorerWe had the oil in our Dodge dually changed at the Wasilla Dodge dealer. We provided the filter and the synthetic oil. The labor charge was around $15 and we were very pleased with the service we received,
- MORSNOWNavigator IIIAll of the Anchorage dealers have quick lubes in them Ford (Cal Worthington on the Seward Hwy), Chevy/GMC (Alaska Sales and Service and Lithia Chevy on Old Seward), Dodge (Anchorage Dodge across from Merrill Field and Lithia Dodge on Old Seward). Wasilla has Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. No dealers in Palmer but there is a big Midas on the south end of town.
- daily_doubleExplorerDon't even think about going to Stanley Ford in Kenai unless you have your banker with you!
- Grit_dogNavigator IIJohnson's Tire. They're better than the Zippy Lube places although it isn't going to hurt to get your oil changed there either. Millions do it. It's just an oil change. Don't overthink it.
- Tree_HouseExplorerOur Ford f53 chassis class A had an oil change in Fairbanks last summer at the Ford dealer. They said to come on in to their Quick Lube, no appointment needed.
There is a Ford dealer in Wasilla, they do class A oil changes, but they wanted an appt a few days out, and we could not wait. You might try calling them in advance to see if you could schedule with them.
Susan - PA12DRVRExplorerNo MH direct experience, but the Johnsons Tire Service has always done right by me the few times I had an oil change in Slodotna
- We had the oil changed in our B+ in Soldotna. Johnson's Tire Service, same road as the Fred Meyer.
