How is road CA 89 from Redding to Reno for 40ft M/H and toad? Thanks

CA89/44/US395 (ie. Shasta, Susanville) is fine.
Or you could stay on 89 a little longer by taking Moony Rd (good paved county rd) around the east side of Mt Lassen, and then take CA79 over US395. That takes you past Lake Almanor, a popular recreational lake (reservoir). I passed that way several times because some Reno relatives had a 'mountain' cabin in the golfing community of Graeagle.
