Redding to Susanville, CA
Is Hwy 44 all the way a good RV route? (with a few miles of Hwy 36 at the end.) Would be driving in a week or so.

South of the Oregon border their is lots of road work, from Hwy. 96 to Yreka it's a lot of one lane and can be slow ( 30 mph )for several miles. From south of Hwy. 89 to Redding their is construction, this may add one hour to your trip. Take Hwy.89 and you will be better off time wise, it's a nice drive.cpaulsen wrote:

That's the way I go. 89 to 44- Good road, no problems.
One grade of any note climbing up the Hat Creek Rim out of Old Station. Other than that it is mostly straight and flat.
The rest stop at Bogard is out of water (spring dried up).
Open range, so watch for cattle on the roads. - Take 89 from Mt. Shasta.

. Susanville RV park is right off the HI way in town too if you need a good place to stay. - A very good road. Will not regret going that way.

- A good 2 lane road, skirts around Lassen NP, no problem with your rig. We have taken that route a few times with our rig.
