Refused entry with a truck & camper
Had a call this morning from Mike & Terri, they are being refused entry with a truck camper on a 1 ton. My mexican partner is trying to deal with it via phone. Not sure if the issue is the truck bein...

I am never totally sure of what I find. This appears to be some sort of request dated Mar. 2, 2017 to change the law regarding weight. Perhaps someone else will understand it?

VII. Dicho lo anterior, es importante señalar que es común que los connacionales con residencia en el extranjero o
que laboran fuera del país adquieran para su uso personal vehículos tales como la Ram 2500 o la Ford F-250 Super
Duty entre otros, mismos que por sus características superan la capacidad máxima mencionada en el considerando
anterior, que si bien es cierto, el reglamento señala que la aplicación de la misma es para los vehículos propiedad
de extranjeros, en la práctica también les es impuesta a los connacionales que visitan el país, que muchas veces al
desconocer la normativa aplicable, son sujetos de abusos por parte de las autoridades aduanales, situación que
genera condiciones que pudieran dar lugar a la realización de actos de corrupción.
VIII. Considerando que al establecer la mencionada restricción, el espíritu del titular del Ejecutivo federal, era
evitar la entrada al país de vehículos con fines comerciales, la presente propuesta busca que dicha disposición no
afecte a los connacionales y extranjeros que visitan el país y cuyos vehículos de uso personal encuadran en el
supuesto de la restricción, por lo que se plantea realizar una ampliación al peso de los vehículos permitidos para
importarse de manera temporal al territorio nacional, siempre y cuando éstos sean destinados única y
exclusivamente para uso particular.
Por lo antes expuesto, sometemos a consideración de esta honorable asamblea la aprobación de la siguiente
proposición con
Punto de Acuerdo
Único. La Cámara de Diputados del honorable Congreso de la Unión exhorta al titular del Poder Ejecutivo federal,
para que en el ejercicio de la facultad reglamentaria que le confiere la fracción I del artículo 89 de la Constitución
Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, reforme el último párrafo del artículo 158 del Reglamento a la Ley
Aduanera a efecto de permitir la importación temporal de vehículos que tengan un peso vehicular de hasta 5
toneladas, siempre y cuando estos sean destinados únicamente para el uso particular de transporte de pasajeros.

that work outside the country acquire for their personal use vehicles such as the Ram 2500 or the Ford F-250 Super
Duty, among others, which by their characteristics exceed the maximum capacity mentioned in recital
above, that although it is true, the regulation indicates that the application of the same is for vehicles owned
of foreigners, in practice it is also imposed on the compatriots who visit the country, who often
the applicable regulations, are subject to abuse by the customs

VIII. Considering that in establishing such a restriction, the spirit of the incumbent Executive
to prevent the entry of commercial vehicles into the country, this proposal seeks to ensure that this provision does not

restriction, so it is proposed to extend the weight of vehicles allowed for
be temporarily imported into the national territory, provided that they are destined to be
exclusively for private use.
For the foregoing, we submit to the consideration of this honorable assembly the approval of the following

Only. The Chamber of Deputies of the honorable Congress of the Union exhorts the holder of the Federal Executive Branch,
so that in the exercise of the regulatory power conferred by Section I of Article 89 of the Constitution
Policy of the United Mexican States, amend the last paragraph of Article 158 of the Regulations to the Law
Customs in order to allow the temporary importation of vehicles that have a vehicle weight of up to 5
tonnes, provided that they are intended solely for the particular use of passenger transport.
