Removing Tourist Permit When Leaving Baja

You are going to have to drive East across The Northern Baja before exiting Mexico at One of the Mainland portals. The option is to leave Baja at Tj or Tecate then drive east across. The USA ,re enter Mexico and make a U Turn at the Vehicle permit facility to turn in the permit.

Personally I would try Mexicalli or San Luis!

Just heard back from the Banjercito and was told that it could be processed in Mexicali. Glad that we don't have to go all the way back to Nogales!

Can't you get it removed at the La Paz ferry terminal? There must be a Banjercito either at the terminal there or Mazatlan as TIPs aren't required in Baja.

The crossing at Tijuana to San Diego does not have any area where the Banjercito can remove an Import sticker, and they are in the process of remodeling, I have never seen any module on the entrance to the US, they a have new buildings on the entrance from the US to Tijuana, I have no Idea if they have a Banjercito module, if not the next Banjercito module is in the Mexican Consulate in San Bernardino on "D"St and "3"Rd, on the 215 going to Vegas exit on "5"th,St East and go to "D"St turn right and the building will be on the left about 3 or 4 blocks, in front of the Court House, hard to park an RV so one of you drive arround the block while the other one gets the Banjercito person to come out and see the removal of the permit.

Tecate is a better choise to have the permit surrendered, or Mexicali.

WRONG DAMMIT!!

The SOLE Banjercito that can cancel a permit is located at the OTAY MESA crossing point. 2 Blocks before the actual frontera on the WEST side of the street.

Let me define SOLE.

You cannot do it in Tijuana, Tecate, Mexicali, Algodones, or Sonoyta.

You can cancel at the Banjercito near CABORCA, Sonora but this is a little east of the planned exit route.

Verified when my feet were actually standing in the oficina de Banjercito at OTAY MESA.

OTAY MESA is the commercial truck and auto crossing 20 minutes EAST of Tijuana. Take the NEW TOLL ROAD just north of Ensenada EAST and NORTH and one leg will dump you right on the boulevard.

The cross street for Bajercito is FREY JUNIPERO SERRA and the main boulevard to the border crossing.

I haven't crossed tought the Otay Mesa crossing since the last time and that was before 911, it took three and a half hours in mid day, for some reason they inspect every car, trailer and person, at least in San Ysidro you have the curio satlls to look at.

So going north you need to go on Sabastian Vizcaino north and turn right on Fray Junipero Serra to where the Banjersito booth is located, if you enter the boder line you will have no chance to turn back, is this correct?

If you are northbound and make a make a right, that will put you on the east side of Fray Junipero Sera.

You can see the Banjercito facility from the boulevard buy you must make that left. Turn "LEFT" onto junipero Serra. Have to park within the parking area for them to scan the hologram and do the VIN verification.

Banjercito and ADUANA are adjacent to one another.

I don't like crossing at OTAY MESA either. But for turning in car permits we're screwed on this one...

Dear Mr: MEXICOWANDERER acording to the official Banjercito directorio de modulos aduanales en frontera, there are "internacion" modules in Otay, Tecate, Mexicali, San Luis Rio Colorado so there are other places where you can surrender the calcomania, we normally crossed at the Pharr bride now we use the Anzalduas, since we like to stop in Saltillo and purchase candy that is made there, then Matamoros and on South.

When there is ADUANA. It is Mexican Customs. Declare, Goods, Duty, money, factura.

Pesos are paid at the Banjercito the army navy bank. Entiendes? Tramites de migracion, fines, all paid at the SAT modulo Banjercito.

Car permits ARE A HORSE OF A DIFFERENT COLOR.

CERTAIN Banjercitos, the ones that are linked securely to ADUANA in Mexico via computer database can process car permits. There are FEW of them. And the public is only allowed to utilize the ones along the USA, Belice, and Guatemala fronteras.

The remainder of the oficinas de Banjercito modulo de SAT will smile patiently and say NO PODEMOS! We cannot do it.

Try Tijuana, Tecate, Mexicali or Algodones
