READ COMMON SENSE HAS TO BE UTILIZED. This isn't some "you're either for it 100% or against it 100%" game. If an individual has problems differentiating restrained self-protection from predatory violence then that individual shouldn't be out and about anywhere without supervision. I am about 80% disabled. Obvious to some predators I would be an easy mark. An average 12-year-old could beat me to a pulp. Fun huh? Yet I am not afraid to live in what has been termed the most dangerous area of Mexico outside the cities.
My mentioning I have a crossbow and pepper spray brought forth a vision of a cross between Charles Manson and Rambo, huh? I find that to be a pity. Sad.
