'rest area' on the I-5 in LA?

On a sunday we will be going from the valencia rv park, south to the anaheim rv park.
Down the I 5.
As there are no rest areas, is there somewhere to pull off for a rest?

2 weeks later we will continue south to mission bay. Any where on the way?

Where is the toll road going to the i5 in that area. I remember it used to be a quiet drive.
Thanks all

I never, ever drive through LA except in the wee hours of the morning. Why would anyone who doesn't live there subject themselves to that? Whenever we head up North, we head out around 3AM. Smooth sailing...usually, if there's not construction or sigalerts.

X2! the last two times I went to LA I would go at that time of the morning, glad I don't have to go to southern Ca. anymore. :B
If you are going on Sunday morning you could leave a 5:00 AM and be fine.

  • LA to Anaheim there are no rest areas. On Sunday I would expect traffic to be bad. Google maps is usually pretty good at providing the best alternate routes around traffic however there are times that those aren't much better.

Anaheim to Mission Bay there is a rest stop between San Clemente and Oceanside.
  • The answer is NO

And if you are planning that move THIS Sunday, the entire trip will be 5MPH.
  • On a Sunday afternoon you'll be stopped in traffic a couple hours. You can rest then.

Seriously, I have the same question as the 1st responder.
  • Valencia to Anaheim is only 60 miles. Anaheim to Mission Bay is about 95 miles. Will you need a stop in that short of a distance?
