  • Cabela's in Post Falls, ID along I-90 has designated overnight RV parking spaces and a dump station for free.

Where does I-25 go through Idaho? I-84, I-86, I-15, I-90 yes, but still looking for I-25.

    I suspect he means I-15.

  • On the Mt. side at exit16??? there is a gift shop/casino called Silver Dollar. They have parking in the back under the trees with power. FREE. Spent two nights there a few weeks ago. Will stay there again.
  • n7bsn has it right as far as I can remember, the RA is near Superior which is about 50 some miles west of Missoula. There's a RA in Idaho just west of Coeur d'Alene but it's right next to the freeway and therefore noisy. A favorite of ours is in WA about halfway between Moses Lake and Spokane, real quiet since if's about 1/4 mile off the freeway; don't know if you can spend the night there or not. Check your maps for WA and ID RA's amd the list noted by DesertHawk above for MT RA's is a good source for that state.
  • I don't know of any. I would check out Free Campgrounds which often list overnight areas. We've traveled form Boise to Glacier and stayed over in grocery parking lots, like the one time we stayed in Salmon. DH went in and checked with the manager and they said no problem. We bought breakfast there the next day. Also stayed in the parking lot of a grocery store in McCall, Idaho and did the same thing.
  • In '97 we did an overnight at a rest area in Idaho on I-25 :S (No, Make that I-15)....it was somewhere close to the ID & MT state line (but looking for it can't find one too close). We had gone through Butte earlier. ID DOT Rest Areas Map Looking on this map, Milepost 167 - Dubois, seems in the right place, but I do not remember the Visitor Information Center being there at the time. Photo appears to be somewhat new building.

Rest Area Exit 208 Near Anaconda - close to Butte. Might give some idea on policy. Ditto, but outside of Dupeyer

    Montana Rest Area List

Wyoming DOT Rest Areas Policy might be what Montana's Policy would be as well.

Post Edit: Thanks, Texan, for noting the I-25 mishap. :B
    Thanks, n7bsn, for suspecting correctly.
  • Just a heads up....the rest area near Lookout pass on the MT/ID (on the MT side) border is closed for repairs.
  • On I-90? I wouldn't stop at the only one in Idaho, simply because it is in town and too busy.
There is one in Montana that backs up to a NF Campground (I mean as in drive through the rest-stop to get to the campground. We've stayed there and it is quiet and restful
