Not our first rodeo. :). Yup we have the receipt and it was all properly scanned as usual.

This morning the refund showed up. It was credited at piedras negras which is where we entered Mexico. Maybe crossing out at a different location causes a delay?

Since this was instituted, with the exception of this year, we have entered and exited Mexico at the same location.

TEMPORARY IMPORT PERMITS (TIPs)

You must turn in the permit and they remove the sticker - they scan everything and give you a receipt - you should get a refund in a couple days if you turned it in properly - and the guy entered everything properly - you should have paperwork to prove you turned it in - where you can go and what you can do to get a refund if it has not come through I do not know.

sorry for asking the dumb question however, what is a "tip"?

We crossed at Nogales on March 11 and have not received a credit to our credit card as of this date. Any suggestions on what we could do?

Ours took one day - it is on a credit card and should be automatic. You should have gotten paperwork and cancellation validation etc. Could take a couple days but not more than that - if everything was entered properly - I stayed and watched the credit card number go in and everything.

In the U S A Banks have 72 Hours to deposit money in Your account on all electronic transfers .. will depend on the Bank, Just think of the Billions of dollars that the banks use interest free for 72 Hours

Yeah, what Scorpion said, give it a few more days. Last year ours showed up in 4 or 5 days, don't remember exactly. This year of course we didn't have one to turn in. :M
