Ridgecrest CA to Death Valley

I was wondering if the highway from Ridgecrest through Trona to 190 is open to Death Valley?

Can someone help me out? If we are coming from say Bakersfield, what is the best way to get to Furnace Creek? We're leaving in 3 weeks.....towing a trailer.
