Robert Campbell Highway in YT

Has anyone on here driven the Robert Campbell Highway, and if so, can you tell me about gas availability and general road conditions (I know they change) and what your opinion was of the drive in general? Thanks in advance.

And Sue, I'm reading your blog as I "speak."
  • Thanks, Sue. The photos of the drive on your blog are beautiful, and I found a youtube of it. It looks like really exceptional country.
  • Gas is usually available in Ross River and Faro.

Ross River sometimes runs out of fuel.

Last time we were in Faro, the unmanned pumps were out of order for a couple of days - the computer needed rebooting apparently. The gas station is just some pumps and a computer - credit or debit card needed.
  • There are several construction zones on the Campbell Highway north of Watson Lake.

According to Ross River residents, the highway between Faro and Ross River is terrible. No improvements in recent years. When we were last on it, it was BAD. It was also a bit rough the west side of Faro.
