Should be fine. There are a few towns (with intersections) you go through, but nothing horrible. It's used by trucks. I don't know exactly where in Burlington you're coming from, but maneuvering around the city with an RV could get a little interesting at times. From North Beach, North Ave. to Battery St. to Main Street and straight where it joins with Route 2 is one reasonable route that shouldn't be too difficult.
For the first part until around Montpelier, it will be easier and quicker and no less scenic to travel on I-89. The two roads are parallel there, often literally right next to each other.
If you're in the Burlington area in the summer and like baseball, a Lake Monsters game (minor league) at Centennial Field is a lot of fun. Centennial Field is one of the oldest ballparks in regular use by a professional team, and arguably (depending on how you define things like regular use, etc.) the oldest one.
