Route 88 and 17 through NY and PA to Austinburg OH

Planning a drive west out of NH. First leg ending in Austinburg OH Was initially planning going via Buffalo 90 west but now thinking Route 88 through mid NY into PA route 17 to Austinburg. ...

I traveled I 17 last month it was very rough around the salamanca area about 10 miles or so. Other than that it was ok.
