Route Lethbridge AB to Portland suggestions

Hey everyone it's been a while since I last posted. Anyway, I'm planning my next years trip from from Lethbridge to Portland OR. I'm looking for a route that is easy to navigate. In no rush to get there, just no steep grades. Where I live now eastern Canada there's not mountains to contend with, lol.

Can you suggest an easy route to my destination? Also, campground (stopovers) suggestions will greatly appreciated.

Thanks nice to be back!
  • You are right, US93 is the Lost Trail. 97 is further west. But BC3 west of Creston can feel like a roller coaster. US97 also has a couple of passes.

I like crossing southern BC, but it is longer, and hillier than crossing Washington on the I90/US395 diagonal.
  • Again thanks to everyone who replied. I’m going to check out google maps.

That on ID / MT 93. (# is a bit of a narrow road in places. It's great on a motorcycle. KEN

  • Thanks for the suggestions will check them out tomorrow morning.
    Probably will have more questions.

Pianotuna that's a cool site, thanks
  • I-15 to Pocatello then west on I-84 is a relatively easy run. However I-84 was hard on the kidneys although it may be improved now. Man it was rough in an empty 5 ton.
  • One option is to take AB/BC 3 across Crowsnest Pass (one of the lowest in the Rockies), and then BC/US 95 into Idaho. Then I90 to US395 to I84. That stays in major river valleys, with low crossings.

That's the shortest/fastest route on Google Maps
