Route Sedona AZ to Yosemite NP

Hi! We’re looking to travel with our Dodge Ram 1500 pulling an 20 foot travel trailer from Sedona AZ to Yosemite National Park. Anyone know the best route to take?

  • Fastest route is 40 to 95 to 6 as recommended by Google maps.

Scenic is the 40 until you hit 395 then north to 120.
  • If you are planning on staying in one of the campgrounds on the west side of Yosemite,
I would take I-17 north to I-40. (I would not try 89A north)
    I-40 west to Bakersfield.
    99 north to Fresno.
41 to Oakhurst and the Village YNP
  • In California take 395 north (gorgeous drive) to Lee Vining and come into Yosemite from that direction. You have a small RV so there shouldn't be any issues for you. You'll encounter a lot less traffic on this route along with beautiful scenery and plenty of campgrounds.
  • 40 to I15 Barstow then 58 west to 395 to 120 more peaceful route
