route through Appalachians from Buffalo NY

We are planning on traveling on US-219 S from Buffalo to Washington DC using the following route. I drove through the Appalachians years ago in a car and I don't really remember all that well how the elevation was. Now that we will be towing a trailer, I am giving it a little more thought, just to be safe. I wonder if anyone familiar with the following route could advise if there are any particularly steep sections etc. that I should be aware of on this route starting on US-219 S.

-US-219 S

-NY-417 E/US-219 BUS S/Wildwood Ave

-Continue to follow NY-417 E/US-219 BUS S

-Turn right onto US-219/US-219 S

-Continue to follow US-219 S

-Entering Pennsylvania

-Turn left onto PA-321 S/US-219 S/Buena Vista Hwy

-Continue to follow US-219 S

-Turn left onto Main St

-Continue onto US-219 S/Boot Jack Rd

-Continue to follow US-219 S

-Turn left onto PA-153 S/Penfield Rd

-Continue to follow PA-153 S

-Turn left to merge onto I-80 E

-Take exit 123 to merge onto PA-970 S/Shawville Hwy toward Woodland

-Turn left onto US-322 E/Woodland Bigler Hwy

-Continue to follow US-322 E

-Continue onto N 3rd St/N Centre St

-Continue to follow N Centre St

-Continue onto PA-350 S/Tyrone Pike

-Continue to follow PA-350 S

-Keep right at the fork, follow signs for US-220 S/I-99 S and merge onto I-99 S/US-220

-Take exit 1 toward I-70/I-76

-Merge onto US-220 BUS S

-Turn right onto the Pennnsylvania Turn Pike ramp

-Take exit 161 - 359 on the left for Interstate 76 E/Interstate 70 E toward Harrisburg

-Merge onto I-76 E

-Take exit 161 to merge onto I-70 E toward US-30/Breezewood/Baltimore

-Turn left to stay on I-70 E

-Take exit 53 to merge onto I-270 S toward Washington

Many thanks

It sounds like a simple route. Do you find it adds a lot of time to your drive? How are the grades?

    Good luck with the move!

Does anyone know about current conditions?

I90 (or 20 to avoid tolls) to 380 or you can cut the corner at Batavia to Mt Morris.

From Corning/Painted Post follow 15 basically to Fredrick Md and grab 270 to DC.

15 is a fab scenic route along the mighty (wide) Susquehanna!

Can't wait 'til I head down 15 again!

Sorry for being brief...but moving today!
    Cheers

of course 270 in DC sucks but there is no real way around that except to totally avoid it during rush hours.
