Completely off topic, except that I don't recall ever seeing a post about Post Falls before...
A few years back, my wife had picked out a new car but couldn't find the one she wanted with all of her options, colors, and model year anyplace near home in southern California. She kept widening her search area and finally found a great price on a car in dealer inventory in Post Falls. She called the dealer and set up the deal, provided he would help to arrange for transportation for us if we flew into Spokane, WA.
This was in January on the Friday before Super Bowl Sunday. There really weren't any good roads down the panhandle of ID that time of year, especially for a Dodge Charger. We didn't want to drive back across into WA to take interstate 5, because it's such a boring drive, so we decided to drive east across the Rockies and come down through Montana.
It started snowing pretty hard and we didn't make it very far at all. I told her that Saturday morning when we got up that we should start thinking about a room in Vegas for two nights, because we were too far from home to make it in a day, and I didn't want to be on the road and miss the game on Sunday.
Challenge accepted. As soon as the roads had thawed out Saturday morning, we started the drive and set out to make it all the way from Dillon, MT to home in northern L.A. County. My previous daily record had been from home to Pocatello, ID, but we shattered that record and drove 1,050 to make it home Saturday night with her new (and freshly broken in) car.
(Sorry for the hijack. The fine folks in Post Falls treated us very kindly though.)
