Sadness in Ottawa

Our prayers go out to the family and friends of the soldier who was killed this morning at the memorial in Ottawa by the terrorist. And hats off to the Sergeant at Arms of Parliament who killed the terrorist, hope you don't have any more violence from those vermin.
  • Just a note about my city.
The population here is just under a million.
Up to now, the 10th month we have had four murders this year.
    That says it all.
  • Kudos to Kevin Vickers. He handled it. It clearly highlights that a good guy with a gun is the ONLY proper response to a bad guy
(or a terrorist) with a gun. Shame on whomever set the policy that the guards of the War Memorial would be UNARMED. SHAME!

Please don't turn this into a gun thread. For your information, the guards at the 'Tomb of the Unknown' in Arlington Cemetery, are also unarmed.

Not a gun thread, but your facts are wrong, as is your understanding what was written.

Joe was NOT speaking of the US Tomb of the Unknown. He was referencing the Canadian "War Memorial", Where a Un armed Guard was killed, murdered really. Shot in the back by a Terrorist Coward. While the Guards do carry a rifle. The rifle is indeed not loaded. So the guards walk their station unarmed.
Understanding what you read is very important when replying to a international incident. Remember other countries also have War Memorials.

BTW. The US Guards are unarmed as well. They too carry empty rifles
