San Diego to Las Vegas-Stay on 15 or use 215 to skirt LA?

We're driving SD to LV mid pm on a Tues. I see 215 thru Riverside as an alternate to staying on 15 just east of LA. Distance looks about the same. Which is the best route re time and traffic. thx

Living in San Diego, and off-roading in the high desert, we ALWAYS use the 15. It's a lot better road (is the 215/91/60 interchange EVER going to be finished?), and usually faster. If you're not towing, just stay in the left lane and you don't have to bother with the interchanges at 91, 60, and 10.
Be sure and check the wind conditions thru Rancho Cucamonga, and Devore. Travelling on a Tuesday, you shouldn't have any problems.
