- Community AlumniThe road washed out west of Hwy 177, so you can't use it to get back on the I-10. If you need to use Hwy 62 coming out of Parker, AZ, you must continue west on 62 and go past 29 Palms, Yucca Valley, etc., and connect to the I-10 in the Desert Hot Springs area.
- Roy_LynneExplorerPossible detour heading west would be to exit I10 at Blythe and take 95 north to 62. Its a great 2 lane road but NOT to be done with an empty gas tank. I've never taken the 177 out of Desert Center but I'll bet that is how they are routing traffic.
Coming east, exit the 10 at Hwy 62 Yucca Valley. Knowing Calif, they will have it open quickly. - dicknellenExplorer IIFrom the Cal Trans Road Conditions web site

The news said the driver of the truck had some serious injuries but should be OK. - JTExplorerOn the brighter side California is getting some much needed rain.

Any rain in California is very localized; most areas of the state have not had a drop. - GMandJMExplorerWow! I hope the person or persons in that truck made it out okay. The rushing water makes me wonder though.
- bgumExplorerand they say I10 in Louisiana is rough.
