Sequoia NP

Tent camped many times in Sequoia at Lodgepole. Always wanted to visit Crystal Cave but never did. Maybe you could check it out.

Three rivers is predicted to be 109 tomorrow with high humidity. We don't usually have the humidity but this year we have high temps and humidity both. Probably nothing compared to what some are used to in other states. Sequoia RV resort is in Three Rivers and very nice.

Your post does not state what you're driving, pulling, etc. The road from Three Rivers up into the park is very windy and not advisable for vehicles with trailers. You would be better off using Hwy. 180 if you're rv'ing. We've visited Chrystal Cave a few times and always find it fascinating. It's quite a walk down to the entrance, and then of course you have to walk back up. Just thought I'd throw that in since we're close to the same age group.

With expected high temps around 120*, I'd stay away from Death Valley this time of year. You'd only be asking for trouble. Lodgepole campground is very nice in Sequoia N.P..

I strongly suggest you avoid Death Valley this time of year. I have found that February is the best time of year to be in that area. I worked in the high desert of California for many years, all around the outskirts of DV and there is NOTHING fun about being there between mid May and late September. JMHO.

YES you are NUTS to go to Death Valley this time of year.
Please rethink that.

As a pro videographer I once videotaped a wedding in Death Valley in August. The temp inside our non-air conditioned camper was 98 degrees at night. There was a breeze but the heat made for a miserable experience. We did tour around Death Valley in our truck which had great A/C and saw most of the sights.

Three Rivers and Death Valley will not be comfortable for anything other than stay inside in the air conditioning.

Not clear. Are you still going to Sequoia, but not stopping in Death Valley? If so, Three Rivers Hideaway is one of the worst RV parks we have ever stayed in. You can read my June 2015 review of our experience on RVParkReviews.com.
