Shaw Direct ( Star Choice) changing ??

So the latest reports (Rumours) are saying that as of the end of April 2019 we will be unable to receive a signal south of the 45 th parallel!

What I have read indicates that the Two Older Satellites which Shaw has been broadcasting on will be decommissioned!

This will leave only the One Newer Satelitte which is aimed at Canada as their only signal.

This of course means no more Canadian TV reception in the Southern USA and Mexico Guatemala and Belize!

Oh dear whatever will we do!
  • I'll be sorry for those RVers that recently put out $2,000 for the rooftop antennas. It just seems like HD is marching on. All full HD receptions, a different satellite I think, has its footprint regulated to that latitude. Those who go deep into Mexico have had the good fortune for many years to be pretty well the only ones with north of the borders TV.
  • I watch ustvnow.com. You can get U.S. national channels, about five I believe. I just watch PBS in the evening via laptop. The Ustvnow.com is a great thing. I can watch it anywhere. You have to have a foreign ISP to sign up. The pay portion is just like cable and package prices vary.

We use YouTube with our smart tv, along with Netflix. We're not big on television shows, mostly news, international films, and documentaries.

This probably won't be of much help for rvers though.
  • Chris. You have the luxury of high speed in the house. Cannot stream in most campgrounds
