Skagway ferry dock sunk overnight

Skagway ferry service will resume Sunday

Speculation is that the city filled a bunch of the pontoons with fresh water (pipe leak).

The current AMHS status calls for sailings to resume on May 10th.

Explorenorth: Thanks for keeping us current on the dock. We have already paid our fare for a trip leaving Skagway to Juneau at the end of July. So, we were concerned that we might need to change our plans. It looks like the dock should be operational by then. Thanks again for the updates. Bob

After all the dire warnings about how long repairs to the dock might take, I was pleased to see it high and dry again today, though not open for business yet.

Don't know when you were there last, but fuel and food are both reasonable (I fill up there often with my motorcycle because of the small tank), and the grub is excellent.

The large crane used in the harbour rebuild was still there a couple of weeks ago, so they may be in luck. The REALLY big one used for the Railroad Dock work has been taken away, though.
