bgum gave you good advice. La.23 runs about 1/4mi. from my house. It's a good hwy. mostly 4lane running between 2 levees. One on the river side & the other on the marsh/Gulf side. Below Buras is Fort Jackson which has self guided tours. If you were going in Dec. the citrus crop, Navels and Satsumas would be in and in late spring the famous Creole tomatoes are sold in roadside stands. Not much left below Port Sulphur from several hurricanes. Venice is just a fishing and oilfield community and a jumping off place for the offshore oil industry.
