South from Boone, NC to Florida

We take 321 from Hickory and stay on it, 301, etc and enjoy seeing the small towns and avoiding 95. Doesn't add that much time and is much more interesting. Most of the roads are 4 lanes from the old days. Never had a traffic issue. We drive a 40' Class A towing a car. We have gone from Hickory to Tampa without getting on an interstate except around Columbia.

I would hit Asheville for the food and beer, Little Switzerland Inn for the view. From there depends on which way your traveling.

depending on what part of florida if you travel I-95 red gate farms campground in savanah ga is very nice stop . beautiful property. horse back trail rides available, etc. not much for kids to do but just wife and i so thats perfect for us. 10 minute ride or cab ride to downtown historic savannah. great food and lots of history. check out their website. at some point we would like to visit st augustine fl area. convenient to I-95
