Well, 3 days or less isn't my speed, but anyway - you might look into I-70 into at least western Maryland/Pennsylvania. After that, you'll be stuck with turnpike tolls on many roads. I-80 across PA will avoid some of that. Can't advise much more - we just sucked it up & paid.
