- Cabo_PaulExplorerThank you, everyone!
- CharlesinGAExplorerRather good down gradient going into Deadwood from the north, and headed out of town is a good climb out. Was touring in a rental car, the MH stayed in Spearfish City Campground. Use regular precautions going down the grade, gearing down, etc.
I would not even consider going around thru RC.
Charles - Corky12ExplorerMuch prefer Hwy 385. Going to Rapid City means going through Rapid City and all their major streets are continually under construction. There is a drop into Deadwood and a climb out of Deadwood but nothing that hasn't been done hundreds of times. A beautiful drive if you don't expect to set any speed records.
- TexasShadowExplorer IIwe've taken the route through Deadwood two or three times, and it's doable. Deadwood has split the road through town so it is easier to navigate. after Deadwood, the road is no problem at all.
- RoadpilotExplorerI agree with Kavoom on both counts.
- KavoomExplorerYou should be OK but you can take the highway to Rapid City down 16 also. About the same time since much of it is highway.
