SR-34 in north Texas

Staying at Dallas NE Campground on I-30 east of Dallas to visit the George Bush Presidential Library on the SMU campus. We will drive to and from the library in our toad. Upon leaving, our next stop is Waco, Texas and having no desire to endure the Dallas traffic in the motorhome, am considering using SR-34 through Terrell, Kaufman, Bardwell, and connecting with I-35 near Italy, Texas. Has anyone used this road? Is it suitable for a motorhome?
  • No problem...ask any truck driver who makes their living driving in Texas and they will tell you that driving any Farm to Market or State Road, as well as most if not close to all secondary roads there are few issues.
  • Hwy 34 is no problem. Slow down for the railroad tracks in Bardwell. The local police do not like speeders. Bardwell lake has nice parks. Good place for a good night. I have a 40' RV. No problem with large RV.
    Have a good trip.
  • The dogleg in downtown Kaufman will be tight but doable.
the Corps parks at Bardwell are a good stop but really not that far from where your at now.Might want to stop at Waco, corps park there and see the Tx Ranger Museum and Dr.Pepper Museum or go on down around Georgetown.
