St Jean Baptiste Day in Quebec

We will be travelling in Southeast Canada during June and had planned to leave Quebec on June 24, but that is a holiday and someone said we might want to stick around Quebec for the celebration but I can't seem to find details of what is going on that day that would keep us from hitting the road and heading on to New Brunswick. Has anyone been in Quebec during this celebration and is it worth spending another day?
  • St-Jean Baptiste is a civic holiday, most if not all businesses are closed (banks, stores, offices)
There will be some form of celebratation in most cities- towns and villages.
Be ready for some festivities wherever you go. Quebec City and Montréal offering the best parties.
Join the crowd, you won't regret it.
  • This is one of the busiest long week end in Quebec every you go you will have a lot of celebration boon fires, music shows...... So you better have reservations for camping spot no mather where you go.
    Enjoy your stay

  • Lots going on that day, better reserve a cg or if not I can suggest a couple of W-M lots.

I live across the river from Q-City but have never attende the cérémonies. There is always a big show an fire on the Plaines of Abraham...great if you are younger than 30 years old

The city is worth the visit, really nice place with much to do.
