Nice pics and trip reports BUT - from Parks Canada website (Banff NP) " Keep your dog under control and on a leash at all times. Dogs are not permitted on trails with seasonal restrictions. "
So you, as a aotive Canuck should surely know the rules.
Sorry to hear that your job as a former Banff warden had to deal with so many scumbags who break the rules. I read Ruudie your reply to our trip report and this is what he wrote:
Dear cruiserjs,
I read your original remarks about our trips to the Canadian National Parks and I can sincerely say that although I have only known my master(crosscheck) for ten years, when we are in the national parks, most of the times except when I am swimming to cool off, at a Mt.peak for a photo op or when there is no people around, I am on a lease. I am a loyal, low key, friendly, Golden who does not chase wildlife or other pooches. My master says he has been hiking, biking, paddling, skiing in the PP and National Parks for almost 50 years at times with dogs without any problems and I believe him.
What I would like to propose is an invitation for a hike with my master and I in one of your favourite Canadian National Parks and I will bet you a pallet of Milkbones that you will find us the perfect companions, not the problem that your original post portrays us to be.
Your Truthfully,
Ruudie
