stop between El fuerte & Teacapan

I am looking for a midway stop between El Fuerte & Teacapan fro cravans. Not this year but next. Several years ago I camped in a large Balneario, just south of Culliacan, a short distance off the culliacan-Mazatlan libre. (Near Costa Rica) Has anyone been in there recently? I can check it out northbound in March when I only have 10 rigs behind behind me, but if anyone has any info, please let me know (I know where it is, already). I just can't check it out with my current 18 rigs, especially when they already have a very long day form Los Mochis to Teacapan tommorrow. Plus it means taking them off the Cuota which adds a lot of time.

  • Tequila.......is Punta San Miguel in Celestino open this year? We heard that it shut down last year. We were there two years ago when the pool was almost finished
  • We need a spot further north, which is why I am looking at the baleanario near Culliacan. We have used punta san miguel in the past and I know of the others at Celestino.
  • The only place I can think of is the group of parks at Celestino - if they have been able to fix the road. Suggest emailing all the parks for current conditions. Some of this information is probably out of date - you may have more current info - all depends on road conditions.

December 16, 2010 - We recently visited the park as we traveled down the west coast. Noe and Estela are not currently running the park. They are visiting Canada and not expected back until January. A young man named Chofi is running the park. We were unable go get any answer to emails or telephone calls to the numbers listed in the book, but Chofi gave us his cell number which is 696-108-5699. Wi-Fi in the park is not working but web access is available in the office.

January 17, 2010 Reader Report- The rate here is 150 pesos per night plus electricity (recently installed meters, ours had a reading of zero!). The power isn't good in spite of having both 30 amp and 50 amp service, the voltage varies from 130 plus to 100 with little power draw to the camper, our 30 amp surge guard shut off power to the camper, a line conditioner helped but there are still variations in voltages and daily power failures. -
12/24/07 Update - Noe and Esthela, owners of the Villa Celeste, reported to us earlier this month that there is a new RV park in Celestino Gasca. It's owned by a Mexican couple, Miguel and Consuelo Beltran. There are 30 full-hookup back-in sites with 30-amp power. Their website is www.rvsanmiguel.com , email is miguelbeltran@rvsanmiguel.com , phone is 52 669 981-0272. We've requested an email from the owners with information about the park. Nothing yet, so if you visit the new park please send some information about exact location, facilities, prices, and your general impression. contacto@rvpuntasanmiguel.com

  • Los mochis RV park near the interchange with the el fuerte road & 15 D. Awful place, but it works for a night. We will be there tonight. We were going to use the Pemex south of town, but the green angels tell us it is now pretty full of semis. It was half empty when I checked it a week ago, so Copper Canyon RV park in Los mochis is it. At least they have cut the high grass down. In October, I damaged my rig in there. They have high faucets painted green. I could not see it the grass & did $1000 worth of damage. Lots of chickens and bad rep for theft, dont leave anything out that is accessible.
