SW Fla - SE Jersey

I've used our Magellan Roadmate RV9490T-LMB the last couple of trips down and back. I like to take 75 to 10 (not a fan of 4) to 95 until the tunnel in Baltimore. This is where I've nearly thrown the Magellan out of the window. Twice now it's brought me, our 37 foot Class a towing our Jeep Wrangler unlimited through the heart of Washington DC. Luckily this has been early on a Sunday morning, 0900 or so but it's still downright terrifying. What road goes through DC? Is it 395? Which should I stay on? 95 will take me through the tunnel I would imagine. Is 495 the correct road? I'm pretty sure that's what we take on the way down.
  • we like using 301 off 95 at bowling green, va. to annapolis then up the eastern shore of md. avoids dc and balt.
  • We stopped using 95 around the capital years ago. The 301 route is much more scenic and enjoyable. North bound pick it up in Virginia Exit 104. A flying J on both sides of of 95. Prefer the one on the west side for RV ingress and egress.
As others have said 495 and 695 will get you around and avoid the propane restrictions in the tunnel.
  • Thank you all for the help and suggestions. Gonna head north Friday and use the route jules6 mentioned, 495-695.

    Thanks again

For the life of me I would never - NEVER - go in - around or anywhere near Baltimore if there was an Option - Look this Old Post Over

Having made this drive hundreds of times - I would always do the Eastern Shore.
