On my recent trip to/from Alaska I stopped there for gas on the way up. It had the highest price that I paid coming and going. I expected that since it's isolated and such so that didn't bother me. However when I went inside to leave my credit card so I could gas up I noticed the clerk behind the desk seemed to have a really surly attitude with everyone he spoke to. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe he was just pissed that nobody was speaking to him in French as he did have a noticeable French accent. I kind of blew it off at the time, but I wasn't the only one who noticed and made a comment about it.
On the positive side, the only unfriendly Canadian I met on the whole trip was this one clerk. Every other Canadian I met in both Canada and Alaska were just as friendly as can be.
