Temporary Resident Visa? Canada

Looks like nothing was resolved between Harper and Peña Nieto. We are submitting the application today via internet. Let's see what happens.

Chris, a bit of history on the Visa. It was introduced in 2009 because of the large number of bogus refugee claimants arriving from Mexico. The visa introduction has been successful as the number of claimants has been reduced by 95%.

Downside is the number of Mexican tourists have also declined substantially because of the hassle in getting the visa, an unintended side effect.

If you are a US citizen, no visa is required.

If you are a citizen of Mexico, you need a tourist or transit visa. You can get the paperwork here;

It sure didn't sound as though the visa need would change. The reports I heard on the meetings down there of the political heads of our two countries sound like Stephen Harper is holding onto the visa requirement.
