Tennessee To South Carolina

I-40 and 26 is a good route. DW and i did it couple weeks back. nice ride no problems

By all that is holy, stay away from Atlanta. 40-26 is a good road.

We have travelled most of the USA over the past 11 years and will never go through Atlanta again with any RV.

Just went through the Gorge to Maggie Valley on I-40 and construction done, no back-ups or slow downs. I have been through ATL 2 times and I will NEVER go through ATL ever again. The 40 to 26 route is the way I would go.

Anytime you can avoid ATL it is a good thing. The drive across 26 will be a much prettier drive, and much less stressful than 7 lanes of hell in ATL. There is nothing in ATL worth driving through it to see.

I-40 just inside NC (MM 1-15) has construction east and westbound that slows traffic substantially. Friends just came through and said it took over an hour to go that 15 miles!

Other than Stone Mountain, why would anyone want to see Atlanta?? Go the other way. That is how we went and back. Whereas, the mountains of East Tennessee and North Carolina are beautiful. although a bit of a pull in a few places.
