- RoyFExplorerFor picking a BBQ, we have a rule of thumb that seems to work almost everywhere. There should be roughly an equal mix of pickup trucks and "nice" cars. If there are no pickups then the place is likely to be upscale, and no upscale restaurant has really good barbecue. If there are no Lincolns or Cadillacs then the place is likely to be too seedy. The "Goldilocks rule" applys.
- S-n-LExplorerazdryheat,
Yes, we went into a food comma the other day. Today we are heading to Louie Mueller in Taylor, TX and tomorrow going to Snow's in Lexington, TX.
We had our son's wedding last weekend and my sister and brother in law stayed this week to do a BBQ tour of the area.
I also love Rudy's but as good as Rudy's is it is not as good as these others.
Sunday we leave the area and am not eating BBQ for along time!
Stuart - timandsusanExplorerMy backyard but I am not home in SA! Otherwise--Rudy's works since it started in SA.

Just yesterday I went to all three Black's, Smitty's & Krueger. All were great and agree if I only had one to pick one Black's would be my pick.
Their giant beef rib is to die for! - azdryheatExplorerWe only eat at Rudy's in SA.
