The Attraction Of Mexico?

This is NOT a TROLL and I am not looking to get flamed, or start trouble.

I am trying to understand the attraction of Mexico?

I have read that things are much cheaper, and of course, the winter weather should be great, but what else?

I have a hard time understanding why folks from the USA would put up with what seems to be some hassle from police, or crime.

Having never been there, I must be missing something. Care to share?
  • Great uncrowded/unspoiled beaches away from population centers, fantastic Mayan history, excellent food, excellent relaxed culture and for the most part very friendly people. It has been a number of years since I was there but I may return when the narco struggles stabilize.
  • great food, great weather, some of the best beaches in the world, friendly people, did I mention good food?
mountains, waterfalls, historic cities and ancient cultures, laid back life style, good food,
    no hassles, no problems,
did I mention the great food and beautiful beaches?
  • well, for one thing, there's a whole lot less hassle from cops or criminals than you think. Especially down in, away from the border, and also, like up here, away from the big cities.
and it's a lot cheaper, not just a little.
and if you know just a little of the language, it can be very pleasant down there.
but as much as I enjoy traveling to foreign parts, and I really do enjoy it, I always feel a bit out of place and off balance until I get back to the good ol' USA. Even in England and Scotland, it's wonderful, but it's not home.
