The PCH between Monterey and Morro Bay!
If you want to take the PCH between Monterey and Morro Bay, you can't! A bridge is down in Big Sur and you can't get there from here. It could take up to a year to replace the bridge and they have not stated yet if it's possible to do a by-pass or even use a temporary bridge. But it's safe to say it's closed for at least a few months, and possibly a year.
The bridge being down has cut Big Sur in half with most of the businesses south of the bridge and most of the homes north of the bridge. I was just playing around with Google maps and to get a car from the north side of the bridge to the south side of the bridge, would require a 250 mile drive!
