Phil - 2013zoeyzingerExplorerWhich are you talking about Helmsey? The one I'm going to?
Phil - HelmseyExplorerIn my opinion it is one of the best places to stay around the Pigeon Forge area. There are plenty of shops, big and small, to check out and do some shopping. Plenty of great food and entertainment and then there is always the national park. You can spend plenty of time in there and see lots of different things. As RoyB said, if the park does get ice and\or snow some of the roads in the park will be shut down.
- RoyBExplorer IILittle Pigeon River, River Plantation RV Resort in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area has bunches of shops and things to wander thru.
If it snows or ices over in the surrounding mtns inside the Nat park some roads may get closed...
We always enjoy our stays there. Have never stayed at the River Plantation RV Resort however. We stay at River Edge in Pigeon Forge or up on the Townsend side so we can get quick access to the Smoky Mtn Natl Park and get out of the big crowds in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We also like to stay at ELKMONT CAMP GROUND inside the Natl Park which closes for the season at the end of NOV i think..
