Tolls from NY to Orlando

I'm going to Disney Florida from Upstate NY (lake George) this summer.
So I a have a few questions:

I believe there are a few such as E Pass, Sun Pass.
Could someone tell me if there are any other passes I should be aware of?
Which States are these passes good for?
Can they be used when pulling a TT?
Are there any other things I should know about?
I think I have to get the windshield sticker type pass?

Thanks

    EZ-Pass works everywhere EXCEPT Florida
It doesn't work in South Carolina or Georgia, either. A Florida SunPass WILL work in Georgia and North Carolina. Florida is currently working with the EZPass consortium to have the SunPass honored on the EZPass system and vice versa, but it's not yet compatible.
Better to stay on the interstates. The only place you would have to worry about tolls is in the Orlando area if you are visiting the Mouse or any of the other attractions. And then you still have the choice of free passage on surface streets instead of the expressway system.
  • As others have said NO tolls on the interstates, I95 to I4 and then take one of the Disney exits off I4.
Biggest traffic issues may be I4 in Orlando, which will be almost impossible to avoid coming from the north.

  • I don't remember any tolls or traffic lights on the suggested interstate routes. Hopefully, 65 or 70 are not too slow!
  • If the OPs friend thinks I81 is going to slow him down because of too many towns I would suggest he not follow his friend.
  • Dutch is right.

All Interstates and no tolls. Actually fewer major cities, too.

On edit: Florida tolls with a trailer on are outrageous. Same as a semi.
  • Go to each states Dept of Trans web site and check out their tollway information. Their pass names may be different, but I bet that all of them honor the one you have from New York. If you don't have a transponder, check out the deals from any of those states that can be used in the others, before just assuming you have to have a New York one. You may find a good deal. Beware, some states, like New Jersy, charge a monthly fee for inactivity. So if you don't think you'll use it often, stay away from those places! I missed a deal a few years ago where Ohio was offering to put an additional $25 on the transponder, just for signing up!

I originally got a Jersy one, and used it all over the East Coast and then back to Minnesota. Later traded for one from Illinois, and have used that from Minn. to New York, down to Virginia, and up to Maine.
All of them automatically detect you have a trailer, and charge your account automatically, so you can always go through the EZ-Pass (or whatever it is called) lane.

Don't know about the route you're suggesting but we are going with a friend( two familes, two TT's) he doesn't want to use alternative routes because he says that it slows him down due to going through cities, towns, traffic lights, stop signs etc.

Don't want to start any friction with him and his family so have to go the toll route,
  • We take I-88 to I-81 to I-77 to I-26 to I-95 from the Great Sacandaga Lake near Broadalbin, NY. We pay $0.95 in tolls with our E-ZPass, and that much only because we prefer to take the NY Thruway for a couple of exits instead of cutting cross country on secondary roads to reach I-88.
  • If you take I/81 to I/77 to I/26 to I/95 to I/4 the total tolls will be $ 0.00!
