We drove through Northern Ontario 2 summers ago on our way to Winnipgeg. Make sure you drive on the top of your gas tank. We were surprised how far apart gas stations were in some areas between The Soo and T.Bay and no warning signs that the next gas was 100+ kms.
One park we have enjoyed a few times is Whiteshell P.P. on the Ontario/Manitoba border. It puts Ontario P.P to shame and is almost half the price. There are a couple of c.g.'s. Falcon Beach is our favorite and has v.g. amenities within walking distance of the site. Check it out if you have the time.
