In 2007 on our way to Zihua, our travel trailer was broadsided and totaled in Kansas.
Took a while to get things sorted out there and in the commotion, we did not think about our 10 year permit until the trailer was already in the salvage yard.
We called the yard and they took a picture of the window with the permit on it. When we got home in the spring, we sent that picture, pictures of the damaged trailer, a detailed letter in Spanish describing the incident, the insurance claim and copies of our 10 year permit paperwork to Aduana in Mexico City..via U.S. Mail.
In about 2 months, we received the cancellation papers in the mail. Carried them with us with our new travel trailer next year and all was good. New permit issued. Now on our third one. It was easy at that time.
