Trailering with motel help

Here's my first post to this forum:
We have a 17 foot TT which we've been using for two years. After traveling around the northeast (and Ohio and KY) we wish to visit New Orleans and points south during early spring/late winter. However, I am concerned about the water system in the trailer freezing up, until we actually reach the South. I'd like to drive down to that area "dry", then spend a couple of weeks in southern campgrounds using the trailer normally, then drain the system just before driving back home north. Does anyone have knowledge about "friendly" motels along the route where one can find room to park a trailer rig while using the motel? I don't wish to trust to luck in finding such, but be able to plan ahead. I haven't seen motel chains which advertise such accomodations, but perhaps they exist? Many thanks in advance to any who can reply.

    Totally agree.

  • Once you find a hotel in the area you want to be in look at the details for that property's amenities. Many of them list bus, truck, & RV parking available. You just have to look a little more closely at each hotel's webpage to find it. What I also do after I find one is look at the Google satellite picture to see what their parking lot really looks like.
  • With your size rig you shouldn't have a problem. Many motels on interstate hwys. have truck parking and most others have enough parking area that they will have space for you.
  • lots of rv,s in the parking lots of motels using the motel ,, but I,D bet you get ask to leave if you try overnighting in the parking lot.
  • I've hauled other trailers, not TT, and stayed in motels. Just park way in the back and there should not be a problem. Many semi drivers do the same as you will be doing. Have a fun trip.

We will be de-winterizing and going to MS in early April and don't expect a problem.
